Bourbon Chicken Recipe

Bourbon Chicken marinated chicken in a whiskey-wine sauce.

  • 1 lb. chicken leg or thigh meat, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 4 oz. soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon powdered ginger
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1/2 cup Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons white wine


1. Place chicken pieces in medium bowl. In small bowl, combine soy sauce brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, onion and whiskey and mix well; pour over chicken; stir. Cover and refrigerate for several hours, stirring occasionally.
2. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Transfer chicken pieces to baking dish in single layer. Pour marinade over. Bake for one hour, basting every 10 minutes.
3. When cooked through, remove chicken from pan; scrape up pan juices with brown bits and transfer to frying pan; heat through. Add wine.
4. Stirring, add chicken and heat through for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
